Abstract

Market mechanisms or methods include mechanisms or means for calculating the price of a traded object, transmitting price information, enabling agreements and transactions, and effecting distribution. The Southern Railway was formed on April 14, 1951, by the merger of the South Indian Railway, the Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway, and the Mysore State Railway. Southern Railway is one of India's fourth major railway zones. In this context, the researcher attempted to investigate passenger satisfaction with the Southern Railway. Primary data was acquired from 100 respondents in the city of Coimbatore using a standardised questionnaire. Statistical methods for analysis include percentage analysis and the chi-square test. According to the survey, rail travel is less expensive, and passengers are happy with the services offered by the department.
