Performance Measures of the M/M/C Queuing Model with Breakdown

Abstract

In this paper, M/M/C queuing system with breakdown is analyzed. Arrival rate follows poisson process and service rate follows exponential distribution, and there are C servers in the system. Interruption in the service is unavoidable which is termed as breakdown. Generally, breakdown leads to longer waiting time for customers and frequent breakdown may lead to higher maintenance cost. This type of queuing model widely exists in industrial sectors also in service sectors. Hence, based on the requirements the steady state equations are written and its solutions are derived. Also the performance measures are evaluated for M/M/C queuing model with breakdown.
